Slowing Down To Receive
A forced slow down can be a powerful gift!
I went to the Exuma islands last week with my family. I was so excited! Whenever I travel, I love to soak in the sights, the views and the wildlife. I want to do all the things! This really fills my bucket, maybe like nothing else!
I'm not good at lounging by a pool or even sleeping in late. A vacation for me is all about seeing what else is out there!! This Aries, fiery intensity is not for everyone, including my family sometimes.
On day 2 of our trip, we got some bad news and some bad weather. So bad, that it didn't make sense to even leave the house. We stayed in. I felt anxious and mad (How dare it rain on my vacation!!). After a few hours of being with all my feels and observing my family enjoy this forced slowdown.... I surrendered. I read a book on the covered deck. I took a long shower. I moved slowly and watched the rain beat down on the turquoise ocean. I observed as old beliefs bubbled up and smiled as they released their hold on me. I laughed at my tendency to push myself too fast and too hard. I thanked the Universe for this forced slow down. I surrendered to what is and I received more than I could have imagined.
What a powerful and active CHOICE!
I'm so thankful for this day.
I invite you to look at where and how you are being called to slow down and surrender to make the space to receive. Where might you CHOOSE to surrender into what is? Sometimes this comes in the form of a cold or sickness. Being released from a job or other responsibilities. Sometimes it's a stormy day on vacation.
